Workable deposits of Fire Clay, Ball Clay, China Clay and Ordinary Clay occur in Adilabad, Ananthapur, Cuddapah, East and West Godavari, MahabubNagar, Kurnool, Nalgonda, Guntur, Nellore, Prakasam, Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam and Vizianagaram Districts. The total estimated reserves of Clays are around 21 Million Tonnes.

The Fire Clays occurring in Adilabad and East Godavari Districts are being used in sanitary ware and stone ware industries. China Clay and Ball Clay occurring in Ananthapur, Kurnool, Cuddapah, Nellore, Nalgonda, West Godavari and Guntur Districts are being used in different Ceramic, Refractory & Filler Industries. Ordinary clay is being used in manufacture of Sewerage pipes & Mangalore Tiles. Clays find usage in many industries like Ceramic, Refractory, Paper, Textiles, Electrical, Cement, Petroleum, Foundries etc.
